The winning advantage
Our CRF450R changed the game back in 2002. It jumped out of the gate and has led the pack ever since, thanks to constant development from HRC and input from the world’s best MXGP riders. We’ve taken the CRF450R’s incredibly fast championship winning formula, its lightweight agility and turning ability, and added even more to the mix. The chassis and suspension are totally redesigned, for laser guided cornering stability over rough terrain. The engine builds extra punch onto its monster low-rpm performance, with precise throttle control. Want to ride an advantage? You’re looking at it.
Brand New 49mm Showa™ USD Forks
The coil spring forks use redesigned outer tubes – plus new yokes, steering stem and axle clamps – with internals remade to deliver consistent damping reaction and feel from the very first movement.
Redesigned Showa™ Rear Shock & Pro-Link
Rebuilt to match the new chassis the rear shock is tuned for uniform reaction anywhere in its stroke. It operates through an 11% more rigid Pro-Link structure tuned for smoother bump control.
Boosted 449.7cc Four-Valve Unicam Engine
More direct intake airflow improves response out of tight turns, plus there’s more power past peak to maintain drive. A 100mm longer exhaust downpipe builds in mid-range controllability.
New HRC-Specification Front Brake Caliper
We’ve drawn directly from our factory race bikes for the new two-piston caliper; it resists heat fade, reducing lever play by 57% and the re-machined body is more rigid, for consistent feel.
3-Mode Engine Mode Select Button (EMSB)
Set engine character just how you want it. Through 3-Mode EMSB choose between balanced power and torque delivery, smoothed performance for slippery mud and all-out power for deep sand.
3-Level HRC Launch Control
Own the perfect start. Set launch point between 8,000, 8,500 or 9,500rpm depending on track conditions and your experience level.
3-Level Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC)
Minimise spin and maximise drive – HSTC offers light, medium and strong intervention levels to suit terrain or riding style. HSTC can also be turned off.
